East Coast returned to action at the East Point Academy when they played host to Ipswich in the first home game of the new season.
Things didn't go to plan for the home side as they were outplayed by a strong Ipswich side.

Two goals from Ollie Payne, both from penalty corner strikes, were not enough for East Coast as goals rattled in at the other end.

East Coast started the game matching their opponents with solid marking and an impressive work rate, but once again the poor preparation going into this season played a part and as fitness levels dropped, so did the standard of hockey.
East Coast allowed their opponents too much space and time, and under pressure, inevitably started to concede goals

East Coast showed sighs of promise pushing forward but just lacked the discipline needed to track back and defend.
I'm sure as fitness levels improve over the coming weeks, so will the performances and results for East Coast.
