East Coast 2s once again travelled to Taverham, this week hoping to gain three points against Reepham.
Reepham began immediately on the attack, quickly overloading the East Coast half. Stunned by the early pressure, East Coast found themselves exposed and conceded two goals within the first few minutes.
As the first half progressed, East Coast slowly found their usual rhythm. Midfielders Claire Ward, Molly Macnamara, Trudie Rhodes, Grace Rothon and Becky Ingles worked hard to regain possession. Forwards Kiri Phoenix, Sarah Rogers and Claire Scrivener tested the Reepham keeper, but their efforts were denied. As the half time interval approached, despite East Coast now demonstrating their skillful play, Reepham extended their lead, adding a third goal.
After the break, East Coast regrouped and reshuffled their formation, determined to try and salvage points from the game. The defence of Vic King, Katie Cross, Desi Reed and Jan Tizzard worked tirelessly as Reepham once again piled into the East Coast half. Keeper Jo Pilbrow made some spectacular saves to try and maintain the score line. Becky Ingles made a notable goal line save, with East Coast showing their fighting spirit.
As the game closed, Reepham added two further goals, a flattering score line for Reepham.
